This workshop will introduce participants to writing as a method of therapeutic intervention and will examine the impact of technology on writing, solitariness, and community. Writing is a modality that promotes emotional resilience through the externalization of thoughts, memories, and feelings. Group writing strengthens interpersonal relationships and reduces feelings of isolation and alienation. Through participatory writing exercises, participants will explore the topic of technology-induced loneliness as well as the positive aspects of connecting to a global community. The process will involve writing, reading, sharing, listening, and discussion.
